"A-Amon took away my b-bending,"
When Tahno walked into the station and found Korra sitting alone with her elbows resting on her knees and face buried in her hands, he knew right away. He watched as she fought to hold back tears, struggled to find the words to explain how lost and broken she felt. But she didn’t need to; Tahno understood perfectly. Her ability to bend not just one, but all four elements, is what defined her very being. For her entire life, she was raised to live up to the legends of those who had come before her. She was the Avatar, supposed to bring peace and balance to the world… and now she was nothing but a vessel of past lives. Still, what good was that when she didn’t even have the ability to call on the spirit of Avatar Aang for guidance?
It killed him to see Korra so broken. Hate flooded his veins like poison, waking a dark hunger that he knew would only be satiated by revenge on the Equalist leader. "Get him for me, Tahno." she whispered, her empty eyes staring at the palms of her powerless hands, and that was all it took to shatter the last of his self-restraint.
"With pleasure," he replied, a sneer of murderous intent crossing his features. And before the former bender could look up and question the dark chi emanating from Tahno in furious waves, he was gone.
